London based 5-piece Suzerain are primed and ready to unleash their double A-Side single ‘Dark Dark’ / ‘Manhattan’ which is available now digitally and on 12” vinyl from September 15th. It was produced by double Grammy Award winner Steve Lyon, who has worked with the likes of Depeche Mode and The Cure, and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the dark majesty of those bands.
This double A-side is the long awaited follow up to their 2011 debut album Midnight In The Drawn City and the 2012 A Mirror Now EP, and sees Suzerain return with a darker, more industrial sound, taking inspiration from the likes of NIN & Berlin-era Bowie.
‘Dark Dark’ provides an ominous futuristic tale of a terrible town where terrible things happen, and ‘Manhattan’, a dream-like song about coming to and realising where you are. Both songs are accompanied by intriguing videos, which can be viewed on the following links
With a remoulded and refocused sound from their debut, Suzerain are currently putting the finishing touches to their second album. Pushing themselves to the limits of perfection, and inspired to stretch musical boundaries, the album will arrive in early 2015.
The band will be taking the stage on Sunday 31st August at Tooting Tram & Social where they will be playing with PAWS and Whales In Cubicles. This will be a great chance to check out their commanding presence, which has gained them a loyal fan base after sharing the stage with Franz Ferdinand and Gary Numan.
